Empowering the UCMS Alumni Network
Fostering connections, mentoring future leaders, and giving back through impactful programs across the globe
We are an organization with diverse backgrounds, specialty and subspecialty training, and interests in extra-curricular activities. We hope to formalize as many of these activities by inculcating a culture of giving back within our alumni members of “giving back” to the community here in the United States and in India, as is applicable. Some of our activities include:
- Networking events include in-person and virtual meetings, reunions, and professional networking sessions to help alumni members connect with each other and current students.
- Mentorship programs are being formulated to mentor junior alumni members on career paths and job placements.
- Fundraising campaigns are frequently organized by our members to support various charitable causes. An example is the Ekal Vidyalaya program, which is bringing literacy, healthcare and economic prosperity to remote villages in India.
- Social and Cultural Events foster a sense of community and pride among alumni members. They are now organized at the national level and also in private events.
- Educational activities are privately conducted by many of our members. Our first national meeting laid the groundwork for formal CME activities, and we hope this will be the start of many such activities.
- Advocating for our alumni interests within UCMS and the broader community, ensuring our voices are heard in institutional decisions.
